The Bio Bulk Planning department is responsible for management of the flow of goods from raw material to final product for the Leiden, Cork, Malvern, St. Louis and Manati (Puerto Rico) plants.
This team is divided over several production locations and headoffice in Horsham (US).
Leiden Planning
- The Planner/Buyers manage the flow of goods of all stock controlled inventory, from vendor up to delivery of raw materials to production.
- The Production Planners manage an optimal balance between customer satisfaction and available resources and possibilities within Centocor BV. We guard the customer demand by making sure that our products are available at the agreed time and in the correct quantity. To realise this, the department is responsible for management for all production and production supporting activities from the making of the WCB up to release of the filled batch.
Strategic capacity planning
This is aimed at the development and maintenance of the long term production plan, which is integrated in the strategic GPSG plans.
Project support
The Logistic Support department is responsible for supporting all compliance and SHE related matters for the Bio Bulk Planning team in Leiden/Schiphol-Rijk. This team is also responsible for the coordination of logistic activities in relation to New Product Introductions, for Leiden as well as Cork (Ireland).
Warehouse & distribution center
This department takes care of the physical tasks resulting from decisions and plans of the earlier mentioned departments. When goods are delivered to the warehouse by a vendor, these are logged in the supply system. If necessary, samples are taken and delivered to Quality Control for inspection. Distribution is responsible for shipping all goods to destinations outside Leiden as well as delivery to the production departments.
